Cut The Chatter.
Conventional handheld planers with straight knife cutterheads are
both noisy and can leave chatter marks in the cut. These marks require
sanding for a smooth surface. Festool planers feature single-knife
spiral cutterheads that sheer-cut the material for a cleaner, smoother
cut that is ready to glue or finish. This design also reduces noise
levels associated with planing for less user strain and greater comfort.
Smooth cuts are just part of the story with Festool planers. When
planing carcasses, trim, panels, or doors, the one-handed EHL 65 is both
ergonomic, as well as powerful. With depth control that can be adjusted
on-the-fly, spiral cutterhead, and 720 watts (6.0 Amps) the EHL 65
planer fits the bill for most planing applications. The base of the EHL
65 planer featured an angled groove for chamfering operations with the
size of the chamfer being controlled by the depth of cut which can be
controlled in 1/256" increments.
So many trimming and planing tasks require working in awkward and
sometimes difficult to reach areas. Being able to control the planer
with one hand allows easy access for challenging cuts, while leaving one
hand free to help secure the material. Not only does the EHL 65 planer
allow for one handed use, it also produces clean and smooth shear cuts.
The spiral single-knife cutterhead cuts quickly, quietly, and cleanly
for less re-work and great results. Conveniently arrange the dust
collection port on either side of the machine for optimum extraction. It
is a simple and straightforward machine that performs like no other.
High Efficiency Dust Extraction
Planers produce more
chips and dust than most other tools. One of the fundamental design
principles for Festool power tools is consideration for highly effective
dust extraction. Effective dust collection saves you time normally
spent for clean up and time is money.
The EHL 65 can be combined
with the Festool line of CT Series dust extractors. Festool recommends
the CT 22 or 33 with a 36mm hose to best handle the amount of chips
produced by the EHL 65.
Depth Adjustment In 1/256" Increments
Use the large, conveniently placed depth adjustment knob to control
the depth of cut in 1/256" increments. The EHL 65
planer provides a maximum depth of cut of up to
5/32" and a maximum rabbeting depth of 29/32".
Flexible Dust Extraction Port
The dust extraction port
can be used on the left or right side, depending on your working
position, so that it does not get in the way. The simple convenience
helps you work optimally and more ergonomically.
Power Switch Lock Out
Work safer with an integrated power
switch lock out button. The lock out button prevents accidental
triggering of the tool.
Cutter Guard
The side cutter guard on the EHL 65 planer
swings upward as the depth of the rabbet increases to keep the cutter
blade safely hidden.
Single-Knife Cutterhead
The spiral cutterhead design with
replaceable cutting knife offers a smooth, chatter-free cut. The simple
design of the cutterhead allows the blade to be replaced in seconds
with no need for adjustment. The spiral, or angled offset, of the blade
produces a smoother cut than a traditional perpendicular configuration.
This also reduces the noise level creating a more comfortable working
environment.
Machined Base Plate with Chamfer Groove
The solid,
machined, one-piece base plate on the EHL 65 features a groove in the
center, which can be used for creating chamfer cuts. Use the depth
control knob to control the size of the chamfer in 1/256" increments. A
kick stand is located on the rear of the tool to keep the blade from
making contact with a surface when it is not in operation.
On-board Wrench Storage
The wrench used for replacing
blades on the EHL 65 is conveniently stored in the rear of the tool.
Avoid being miles from your shop and realizing that you don't have the
proper hex key. Just one more way you can work smarter with Festool.
13' Power Cable
At the end of your rope? Not with the EHL
65 planer that comes standard with an extra long 13-foot power cable.
The EHL has plenty of extra cord length to handle passes down a long
piece of material.
One-Handed Operation
The ergonomic handle combined with
well-balanced design of the EHL 65 planer means that you can operate it
with only one hand. This allows you to secure the material with your
other hand.
The EHL 65 planer weighs only 5.3 pounds which means
it can be used in horizontal or vertical applications with greater
control. The slim body design with a low center of gravity offers a
planing width of 2-9/16" which is perfectly suited for planing and
scribing edges.
Includes parallel stop, standard planer head, solid carbide standard blade, rabbet depth guide and Systainer.
